Stela Cretu



Stela Cretu is a Romanian children illustrator, whose characters have become popular in children magazines like Pogonici and Luminiţa. She was born on April 16th, 1934 in Lisaura, Suceava.

She had solo exhibitions in Düsseldorf (1972, 1979) and Bucharest (1984). And participated in children's book fairs in Bratislava (1973, 1975), the international exhibition of children's illustrated book of Bologna (1967, 1968, 1970, 1971, 1973, 1974), Leipzig (1968, 1970, 1971), Sofia (1969), Warsaw (1971).

Tia Peltz



Tia Peltz (born January 30, 1923, Bucharest - died March 5, 1999, Bucharest) was an illustrator, painter and a Jewish Romanian writer, member of the Artists Union of Romania. She was the daughter of writer and journalist Isaac Peltz. She studied fine arts at the Institute of Fine Arts "Nicolae Grigorescu" in Bucharest. Her artistic work includes paintings, graphics, drawing and book illustration. Prolific artist, Tia Peltz has had numerous solo exhibitions and participated in collective exhibitions both in Romania and abroad. Some of her works are exhibited in museums such as the National Art Museum in Bucharest and Craiova Art Museum, other works being held in private collections. Tia Peltz has made a series of portraits of Romanian personalities such as Isaac Peltz, Nicholas Tonitza, Gala Galaction, Ionel Teodoreanu, Camil Petrescu, Cezar Petrescu, Leny Caler.

Doina Botez



Doina Botez was born in Bucharest in 1951. She has obtained a degree in Fine Arts from Nicolae Grigorescu Institute in Bucharest in 1975. She illustrated books for children and scenography at Animafilm film studio in Bucharest. Since 1974 has participated in group exhibitions organized by the Union of Artists in Romania. In 1984 she has obtained a scholarship to study in Italy, trough the Romanian-Italian cultural agreement.
She held over 26 solo exhibitions and participated in numerous international events.
Since 1989 lives and works in Rome.
