Mary Shepard (25 
December 1909 – 4 September 2000) was an English illustrator. She is best known for the Mary Poppins children's books 
written by P. L. Travers. Throughout the Mary Poppins series, which lasted from 1934 to 1988, Mary Shepard was the 
illustrator and acted as a second author.
She was the daughter of 
E. H. Shepard, the famous 
illustrator of children's literature including Winnie-the-Pooh by A. A. Milne and The Wind in 
the Willows by Kenneth Grahame.
