Madalina Andronic - Zana Zorilor

Madalina Andronic is a Romanian illustrator I have recently came across. Her illustrations are very elegant and full of detail and there is an atmosphere of good taste through all that touches her hand. I love the way she employs Romanian folklore through out her artistic work.

In 2012 Vellant Publishing House launched the collection “Pasarea maiastra” (The Magic Bird), where traditional Romanian fairy tales are visually reinterpreted by contemporary Romanian artists. Among the first to appear in this collection is "Zana Zorilor" (The Fairy of Dawn") by Ioan Slavici, which takes place in nearly 80 pages beautifully illustrated by Madalina Andronic.

Rényi Krisztina

Rényi Krisztina is a Hungarian illustrator. She is extraordinary. I love her use of colours and Golden Age evoking technique. She is among the best children illustrators I have came accross in Hungary.
I bought most of  her works, that I could get my hands on through old and online bookshops. Her website is brim on information related to her work: http://www.krisztinarenyi.hu/index.html and a veritable source of information on this talented woman.
